Türkiye : AMAZING

The one thing I can honestly tell about Istanbul is how amazing, magnificent and ... extremely amazing it is. The first reason why I really wanted to step into Turkey was to watch authentic belly dance performances. But the picture grew larger and I fell deeply in love with it. I can see my near future stepping in this wondrous land once more.

Generally when we think Turkey, we think of kebaps, ice cream and silk tudung women (well thats what came in mind for me).

But here's a handful of things you should really know about Turkey.

The only city in the world located on two continents is Istanbul.

Capital of Turkey is Ankara, not Istanbul.

Santa Claus aka St Nicholas was born in Turkey (maybe he rode a donkey to the North Pole)

Two of the seven wonders of the ancient world, are in Turkey: Temple of Artemis and the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus,

And to those who once thought that Turkey is nothing but a Muslim country.
The legendary landing place of Noah's Ark, is in the far eastern portion of the country.
Noahs Ark Landed at MOUNT ARARAT (AGRI DAGI), Eastern Anatolia.

Abraham was born in Southeastern Turkey *Father Abraham has many sons, many sons have father Abraham*

The Seven Churches in The Book of Revelation, are all located in Anatolia: EPHESUS,
SMYRNA, PERGAMUM, THYATEIRA, SARDIS, PHILADELPHIA AND LAODICEA.

Apostles St John, St Paul and St Peter, have lived and preached in ANATOLIA.

Early Christians escaping Roman persecution nearly 2000 years ago sheltered in Cappadocia in Central Anatolia. Cappadocia is now a hot spot for hot air balloon tours.

About three miles away in the mountain above Ephesus is the house of Mary. Not Mary had a little lamb, but Mary as in VIRGIN MARY (Meryemana Evi)

obviously taken from the internet

So there. Full of history and wonders. We learn new things each day.
